As part of international efforts to equip the Afghan National Army & the Afghan National Police, the U.S. has been responsible for procuring and distributing about 380,000 small arms & light weapons. No surprise given the U.S. commitment to preventing the re-emergence of terrorist forces. What is surprising is how many guns are unaccounted for.
